This is a bittersweet post because I am super excited to show you the cover for Whispered Visions, the 3rd book in the awesome Shifters & Seers series by the lovely Tammy Blackwell.  The cover reveal means the release date is near!!! Scornful Sadie - Felicia Tatum

I am finally back in the writing/reading/blogging game after a long, unanticipated break.  What a better way to start back with my book reviews than with a book that I LOVED???  I received a digital copy of "Scornful Sadie" from the author in exchange for an honest review.  I will admit, I was nervous when I began to read this book because I did not realize it was a continuation of the White Aura series and I have only finished reading book 1 of that series.  However, I was able to jump right into this book and I was not confused as to any of the characters or anything that was happening.  I own the other three books in the White Aura series and I will be moving them to the front of my TBR list.  If they are as well written as "Scornful Sadie," then I know I will not be disappointed.

"Scornful Sadie" picks up several years after the White Aura series ends and follows the story of Sadie, one of the supporting characters in the White Aura series.  After suffering tragedy and heartbreak, Sadie left her family to start a life and adventure of her own, hidden from everyone she loved.  Her goal was to destroy all of the evil supernatural beings she could come across.  After becoming a target of the evilest supernatural being imaginable and being found by her family, Sadie finally goes home to face her family, rediscover her true love, and fight the evil that threatens to destroy everything and everyone she loves.

Sadie is by far one of my favorite fictional heroines. She has the right amount of stubbornness, kick-assedness, and sass.  She can balance brains, love, and fight.  She is strong, yet vulnerable.  She is one of the few leading ladies in a fictional story that does not make me roll my eyes and want to stab her.  I could actually wish to be Sadie.  There is not a single character in this book that I dislike.  They are all very well developed and each one serves their own purpose.  The description of the sorcerer world and realms in this book is phenomenal.  The plot never drags and moves at a constant pace.  There were no points in the story line where I wondered why the author put something in there.  All in all, it was a very entertaining and well written book.  I loved it.  I cannot wait to read the next installment of Sadie's adventure, because this one left off with a cliffhanger that is going to haunt me for days.

Tiffany King Blog Tour Stop! Turtle Bay Coming Soon!

The fabulous Tiffany King graciously decided to stop by this little blog here and leave an excerpt from her upcoming young adult release, Turtle Bay.  If you've been following me, you have already seen the cover, but I am going to post it again here.  Turtle Bay will be available for purchase on March 20th....just 2 days away!!!  I'm pretty certain this will be a novel we do not want to miss!  I hope you enjoy the excerpt below!

He kneeled down to inspect the sand around the netting. "You're not from around here, are you?" His tone was so straitlaced I couldn't tell if he was being sarcastic or not. It wasn't like I had a sign on my forehead that read new in town, but I guessed by his attitude that people from around here knew not to touch the turtle nests. Lesson learned.

I watched as he used his hand to smooth over the sand around the net. "Are you dusting for fingerprints?" My question was intended to be a joke to try and break the ice, but he didn't laugh.

"I'm making sure you didn't disturb the sand above the eggs. Carelessness like that can impact the future these hatchlings have on our environment."

I bit back a sudden urge to laugh. How ironic that the first guy I met in a new town was as zealous about the planet as my parents were. The fact he was lecturing me, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eco-Planet, was downright hilarious. The words to correct him were on the tip of my tongue, but I held them back. He was actually kinda cute all fired up the way he was. Why rain on his parade?

"Hey, I'm really sorry. Can you ever forgive me?" I lightly teased when he ran out of steam. 

I guess he was immune to my charm because his sky-blue eyes looked more resentful than amused. He turned away, mumbling something under his breath that sounded like he had called me an airhead. I snorted in response. Ordinarily I might have gotten upset over some guy putting me down, but something about Turtle Boy's attitude made me laugh.

Cover Reveal! Turtle Bay - Tiffany King

Tiffany King revealed the cover for her upcoming contemporary YA today!  A Tiffany King novel AND a beach read???  I can't wait to grab this one.  Speaking of the lovely Tiffany King, yesterday I went on a book buying binge and picked up "Contradictions" finally.  I can't wait to start reading it tonight.  It's going to be awesome, I can just feel it.

The Dragon and the Rose - Addison Moore

It's no secret that I was anxiously awaiting "The Dragon and the Rose" for practically ever.  This is the second book in the Celestra Forever After series.  I love all things Addison Moore and all things Celestra, Count, and totally hot Nephilim.  

I was not disappointed in this book.  It picked up just where I expected.  Skyla figuring out Gage's secrets and desperately trying to figure out if he is good or wicked.  Now, I've always sorta been Team Gage.  Or I was in the Celestra series.  This series is making me seriously question whose side I am on.  Team Gage, Team Logan, or Team Marshall.  Well, okay, everyone is Team Marshall.  But between the Oliver boys, I think I'm moving to Team Logan. This installment in the CFA series really took me on an emotional rollercoaster.  Who is good?  Who is wicked?  Who can you trust?  I even began to question Laken, who is my all time favorite female in the Nephilim world.

The beginning of this story was a little slow and difficult for me to get through.  I was aggravated with Skyla for awhile.  She takes the whole "stand by your man" thing to a ridiculous extreme.  If my husband had done half of what Gage had done, he'd be out the door and out of my bed faster than he could say the word "Fem." I would have already abandoned him for Logan or Marshall.  I think that is why I had trouble getting through the first part of the book.  Skyla would get mad at Gage for the things he was doing, the lies he was living, and then all he had to do was take off his clothes and it's like she forgot how to think for herself.  

Despite that, the story was beautifully written.  I loved delving deeper into the Fem drama and heartbreak that comes with Skyla's responsibilities.  Once I got past my frustrations with Skyla, I could not put the book down.  And the ending...ohmigosh.  I am not going to spoil it, but it seriously broke my heart.  I couldn't think about anything else for a couple days.  I refuse to believe that how it ended is really what it seemed.  Something else has to be afoot.  It was just so incredibly heartbreaking.  I didn't know that Addison had that kind of passion and bravery in her to just end things like that, but I think after reading the end of the book, I became her #1 fan.  I already adored everything she has written, but this took my thoughts to a whole new level.

So, get off your computer and go get the book (or the first book, or the Celestra and Countenance series').  Now!  Go!
