Beyond the Veil (The Grey Wolves #5) - Quinn Loftis

I finally allowed myself to purchase a book for my Kindle rather than reading free books.  Of course I picked the 5th book in Quinn Loftis's The Grey Wolves series.  I am absolutely in love with this series.  With each book, I change which character is my favorite.  I was nervous about diving back into this series because it has been quite awhile since I have read any of them, but from the first page, I was reminded of why I love this series so much.

I love this supernatural world.  At first, it's a world of just wolves and humans.  Then as the books go on, we find out there are witches and gypsy healers and fae.  In this book, we learn that there are also pixies and warlocks and who knows what else!  It's a magical world to read about.  I love how each of the wolves has a different personality, just as each of the girls has a different one.

One thing I really loved about this book was that each chapter begins with a quote from one of the characters.  By the fifth book, I have learned so much about each character that I was able to figure out who the quote was from before getting to the end and seeing the name.  That's how I know that Quinn Loftis writes and develops her characters well.  I knew their tones and personalities just like I know my own friends.  She has a great writing style and I just can't get enough of these wolves!

This book kept me on edge, wondering what the evil witch Desdemona was up to and whether our beloved wolves and healers and fae would make it through the forest alive.  Though there were no huge battles like in books past, there was plenty of action to keep me interested.  I can't wait to use my Kindle settlement funds to purchase book #6.  I need to know what happens to Jacque's mom, what happens to our male wolves, and whether the fae will step up and help the wolves defeat Desdemona.
