The Wounded is the third book in The Woodlands series. Just as its two predecessors, it did not disappoint. I loved reading more about Rosa and Joseph's story. Though the beginning was a little slow for me to get into, I felt that the second half of the book was impossible to put down.
My favorite part of this series is that the characters are easy to love. They are not always perfect and I do not always like them, and I think that is why I love them, if that makes sense. Sometimes, I want to slap Rosa across the face and make her see reason, but her stubbornness is part of her charm. I loved reading how each character developed more fully. I loved reading how Rosa handled being around her father.
There were quite a few action portions of the book that were very well written. The author also threw in some surprises that I did not anticipate. All in all, I really enjoyed the book and am looking forward to reading more.
