After I finished Red, I had to begin reading War, despite the 70 other books on my TBR (to be read) shelf. It ended with such a cliffhanger, that I could not make it another day without finding out what happened. Yes, I realize I am a bit overdramatic, but seriously, the series is that good!
As per usual, War picks up where the last book left off. Rema has been kidnapped and is being taken to Emperion so that Emperor Hamen can personally witness her execution. Along the way, Rema meets some unlikely allies and grows as a person and a leader. Meanwhile, Darmik, being the hunky prince charming that he is does everything in his power to find Rema and ensure her safety.
War is an epic conclusion full of drama, action, strategy, and suspense. I found myself falling in love with characters I expected to hate. I was happy with the plot twists that made some characters turn out completely different than I had originally expected. I laughed, I cried, I held my breath in anticipation of the next action scene. I was transported to Emperion and Greenwood Island in my mind. Everything was described so perfectly that I could actually see it.
This whole series really exceeded my expectations. I am completely in love with it. It's one of those series that I will end up buying the hard copy of the books for my collection so I can look at the pretty covers on my bookshelves. And . . . guess what the best part is??? At the very end of the e-book is a little blurb that says that there is an upcoming spin off of the series that will be revealed later this year! A spin off!! I shrieked with excitement. Maybe I'm a nerd, but the series is so good that I welcome more of this world. Seriously, go read these books. Now.
